Project Inspired By…Photo Display

Last week’s search for innovative photo displays inspired the following:
I started with16x20 frame that I bought for $6.99 at Ross last year.  It is plastic, but has an intricate design.  I painted it using my favorite Krylon spray paint, “Pebble”.
Next, I used batting and a muted floral cotton fabric to cover the backing of the frame, gluing it to the backside.  I wound twine around the newly covered board and secured it tightly in the back.
My intention was just to slip in some old photos, but…
The twine wasn’t strong enough, so I ended up using these mini clothespins I found at Pottery Barn last year to hold the photos in place.
And now you have it…my very own innovative photo display!
Enjoy!

Inspiration: Painted Dressers

Believe it or not, both of the AquaSeventy6 ladies will be sporting new zip codes in the next few weeks.  Autumn is currently settling in the Nashville, TN area, and Yvette will soon make Richmond, VA her home.
Since a new home will inevitably mean the need to add, subtract or replace certain pieces to suit the new surroundings, and moving is expensive (and hard, and stressful), we always turn thrift and second-hand stores first.
One of the most versatile items in a home is a dresser.  It can be used for its traditional purpose in the bedroom, as a t.v. stand in the family room, as a dining room buffet, or as an entryway table in the foyer.
Here are some dressers, rescued and rehabbed, and a perfect inspiration for our new homes:
