My name is Yvette Manes and I am a freelance writer, occasional maker of colorful goodies, a TV addict, and a podcast and audiobook enthusiast. I love accessible and affordable fashion (although I will occasionally splurge on a timeless, must-have piece) and I am a sucker for second-hand and home decor stores.
I am a proud native Floridian, born and raised in the heart of West Tampa and the daughter of Cuban exiles. I’ve been married to another first generation Cuban-American since 1998. We have two fierce, smart, funny, loving, and considerate adult children and there is nothing I love more than being their mom.
A blogger since 2006, I have written parenting columns for two local community news sources, and have been published on national sites such as Woman’s Day, INSIDER, Romper, Scary Mommy, House Beautiful, and Today Parents. I have also been published in the March/April 2018 issue of Your Teen For Parents Magazine and in the December 2018 issue of Parents Magazine.
